About Me
Two Decades of Experience
I started writing and editing in 1999 and have always enjoyed bringing stories to life. I have over 15 years of curriculum and learning experience design, with a focus on science, math, and reading curriculum programs in print and digital formats.
I have extensive experience in coaching, writing, developmental editing, proofreading, fact-checking, curriculum development, and sensitivity reads. I also specialize in text translations from Portuguese to English. Contact me to discuss how we can start working together.

Services
Please read my offered services below. If you are interested in any other editorial services, please contact me for more information.
Coaching
I help authors and publishers craft an outline of their initial concepts to make way for manuscript production. I am also well-versed in the preproduction stages of development, so please reach out with general ideas or questions about the publishing industry.
Curriculum Development
I have experience developing curricula in the K-12 space, as well as at the university level. I am well-accustomed to developing content, programs, and assessments that align with state and national standards.
Developmental Editing
I help authors and publishers develop titles as early as the conceptual stage. Developmental editing, also known as Content Editing, allows authors and publishers to develop manuscripts that flow logically and effectively.
Fact-Checking
While writers are often versed in copy editing, fact-checking ensures that your work is verified using external sources. I can fact-check scientific manuscripts and manuscripts in various other topics to verify factual information and help shield the writer.
Ghostwriting
When working with a ghostwriter, the writer composes the manuscript, while another person's name appears on the cover as the author. I have experience in ghostwriting for authors and also for unattributed manuscripts written for large companies.
Line Editing
Line editing, copy editing, and proofreading are terms often used interchangeably. Line editing is a type of copy editing that focuses on style as opposed to the mechanics of writing and is a service I am happy to provide.
Proofreading
Like line editing, the term proofreading is often bundled with copyediting. Proofreading is the last step before printing where the final, edited draft of a manuscript is checked, line-by-line, against the "proof" of the typeset version by the printer.
Sensitivity Reading
Sensitivity reads are an underused service in the writing world but are beginning to gain a foothold across genres. Don't let an unintentional slip in your manuscript as it may lead readers to believe you are uninformed or inauthentic. I am comfortable performing sensitivity reads for a variety of ethnicities, races, socioeconomic statuses, ableist language, and LGTBQ+ topics.
